Regenerative adsorption dryer is a commonly used cold dryer, which works by using solid adsorbent to adsorb moisture in humid air, and then regenerating the adsorbent with hot air to achieve dehumidification and drying of humid air.

Regenerative adsorption dryers typically consist of two adsorbers and one regenerator. The two adsorbers are in working state and regeneration state respectively, while the regenerator is used for regenerating the adsorbent.

In working condition, humid air enters the adsorber through the intake valve, and the adsorbent adsorbs the moisture in the humid air, making the outlet air dry. At the same time, another adsorber is in a regeneration state, and the regeneration valve is opened to introduce hot air from the regenerator into the regeneration adsorber for regeneration through the adsorbent.


There are two main types of regenerated adsorbents: one is physical adsorbent, such as silica gel; Another type is chemical adsorbents, such as molecular sieves. The main characteristic of physical adsorbents is that condensed water can be directly extracted from the surface of the adsorbent without the need for chemical reactions. Chemical adsorbents adsorb moisture from humid air through the pore structure inside the adsorbent.

During the regeneration process, the regeneration valve is closed and the temperature of the adsorbent increases, causing the water on the surface of the adsorbent to evaporate. The evaporated water and hot air are discharged together from the regeneration adsorber to achieve the purpose of regeneration.

The regeneration process of a regenerative adsorption dryer can be divided into four stages: cooling, preheating, heating, and cooling. During the cooling phase, the regeneration adsorber is cooled to a low temperature state to avoid the influence of the regenerated hot air on the adsorber in working condition. During the preheating stage, the temperature of the regeneration adsorber gradually increases to reach the regeneration temperature. In the heating stage, after the adsorbent in the regeneration adsorber reaches the regeneration temperature, the evaporated water and hot air are discharged together. During the cooling phase, the regeneration adsorber is cooled to the same temperature as the operating adsorber.
